Nancy Ndukwe, 26-year-old actress in
Jikwoyi, Abuja, was on Friday, September 6,
sentenced to two months imprisonment by
an Abuja Senior
Magistrates’ Court, for stealing an iPad,
iPhone and jewelery.
The prosecutor, Paul Anigbo, told the court
that the matter was reported at the Lugbe
Police Station, by one Faith Njoku, of
Kapuwa Village, Lugbe, Abuja, on
September 2.
Anigbo, told the court that Nancy Ndukwe,
visited her friend Njoku, on the said day,
and stole the items, valued at N190,000.
The complainant valued the iPad at
N100,000; the iPhone at N50,000 and
jewellery at N40,000.
The prosecutor stated that the police found
the stolen items in the convict’s possession
and the offence contravened the provisions
of Section 287, of the Penal Code.
The convict pleaded guilty to the charge but
begged the court for mercy.
“I stole the items due to frustration. I have
a one-year-old son to cater for. I am sorry
and I promise not to do such again,” Nancy
Ndukwe said.
The Magistrate, Celestine Odo, sentenced
the convict to two months imprisonment,
with an option of N6,000 fine.
