NCAA grounds Dana Air

The aviation industry was yesterday thrown
into confusion as the apex regulating body
of the industry, The Nigerian Civil Aviation
Authority (NCAA) grounded the operations
of Dana Air due to the decision of the
regulatory body to conduct an operational
audit on the airline.
Disclosing this development in a two
paragraph text message to newsmen on
behalf of NCAA at about 9.30pm by the Co-
ordinating General Manager for the
Aviation Parastatals, Mr. Yakubu Dati said
that the grounding of the airline was
necessary as that would enable the
regulatory body to conduct a proper
operational audit on Dana Air.
The regulatory body however promised to
give detailed information on the
development later.
As at the time of writing this report, the
detailed information surrounding the
grounding of the airline had not been
given.
The suspension of Dana Air will further
compounded the problem of shortage of
airlines already being suffered by the
travelling public.
