Plateau State Governor, Jonah Jang, has
granted amnesty to five inmates of Jos
Prison to mark the nation’s 53rd
Independence anniversary.
The governor said this was based on the
power conferred on him under section
212 of the Constitution of the Federal
Republic of Nigeria after consultation with
the Advisory Council on Prerogative of
Mercy.
A statement by Director of Press and
Public Affairs, Mr. James Mannok, gave
the names of beneficiaries as Jerry Arin,
Iveh Arama, Peter Gazi, Domchang Jatau
and Pankyes Yakubu, who had all been
released unconditionally.
