Oro is a nation comprised of 5 localgovernment areas.it is situated in Akwa-ibom
state in south-south of Nigeria
the local government are Oron,Udung-uko,Mbo,Urue-offong/Oruko and okobo.the oros are
as we know are the third largest ethnic
group after Uyo and Eket in the state.they are usually called
'Oro Ukpabang' or 'Akpakip Oro' by its Indigenes.the oro indigenes can boast of
seaport and a maritime academy which is
soon to become a nautical university.their predominant
occupation are fishing and farming.the Oron festival
was held last year.its the first of it kind
in that part of the state.the week-long
event featured display from different
parts of Oro nation,traditional arm-wrestling,
a musical concert,the carnival float.here are
